BMe Research Grant
BME grant for the presentation of prominent research areas via the internet
The University Habilitation Committee and Doctoral Council (EHBDT) offers a grant
for the promotion of research findings for a broader audience and the presentation of the corresponding
research areas on the internet. The grant rewards those working on successful
doctoral topics and makes their results visible through the website of BME. In the meantime it promotes
both domestic science communication and the high-quality international presentation of research areas
of the university. The grant is offered once per year.
General terms and conditions of the grant

internationally embedded, outstanding research /
artistic creation

filling out a standard webpage (background, formulation of the specific
research question, description of approaches and methods, results and
publications so far, expected impact) aiming a learned audience not closely
familiar with the research area
Who may apply?
Application is open to doctoral students younger than 35 years of age who have not yet
earned their PhD degree at the time of application and who have active
status in the spring semester of the 2022/23 academic year. The individual entries may only be submitted with the
approval and written recommendation of the supervisor.
Maximum size: 1600 words or 4 pages (excluding figures) or 5 MB.
The complete size does not include the list of references nor the table of publications.
Previous winners of the grant are allowed to apply again, but in the event of winning a higher prize
in the new round the applicant will only be granted the difference of the prizes (and no monetary reward
is given in case of winning a lower prize)

Maximum two prizes of 450 000 HUF, complete with publishing the
research material on the website of BME

Four prizes of 200 000 HUF, complete with publishing the
research material on the website of BME

Evaluation of applications

Level of standard of the composition of the work, its intelligibility

Expected/realized impact
Applications are reviewed by the Reviewing Committee called upon by the head of the EHBDT. The EHBDT decides by secret ballot
based on the written proposal of the Committee. The Reviewing Committee decides about the number of awarded grants without
changing the ranking.
Artistic grants are evaluated and ranked by the Doctoral School of Architecture in advance.

Applications have to be composed and submitted according to the

2023 (23:59), results are expected to be announced
until 6 October 2023.
